Here is a look at the corner of 42nd Street, near Times Square, with the street sign declaring the "New 42nd Street". Anchoring the block and the new tone, Disney has moved in with a retail store and theater, as the old Kung-Fu and adult entertainment parlors disappear.

[Updated] Fast Forward fifteen years. Film is now Digital. The New is now Old, and Times Square has become much more Neon and Touristy - in a family friendlier way. There's a wax museum, children's theater, souvenirs and Hard Rock Cafe, plus street entertainment of all variety. Also new - very recently some of Broadway has been changed from busy land of taxis into pedestrian mall. Even more, between Broadway and 42nd Street, there is always a high level of energy and sensory stimulation in the streets and promenades of the Times Square District.
